Gabrielle Giffords Resigns: Inspiring Video Announcement


Arizona Representative Gabrielle Giffords made a huge announcement on Sunday that she will be stepping down this week.
The January 8, 2011 shooting incident seriously injured the Arizona Congresswoman that left her struggling from a gunshot that struck her head. The 41-year-old Congresswoman was left in coma after the January 8 shooting and for most people, the experience was life-threatening.
Browsing some previous articles, readers can recall that it was only last August 2011 that Representative Gabby Giffords knew the truthbehind who had actually died in that horrible incident.
She struggled both emotionally and physically. And despite the idea that her chance for survival was quite small that time, the Arizona Representative showed an admirable courage for recovery.
An inspiring video was posted via YouTube where Gabrielle Giffords expressed her deepest gratitude towards those who bestowed their trust, support and prayers for her.

The nation, along with her closest colleagues, was awakened of Giffords’ major announcement.
In the recent months, Giffords showed an example of great leadership and bravery as a woman in the field of politics.
Moving forward, the Arizona Representative promises to return as she commits herself to serve once again after a total concentration for her recovery. Giffords’ great optimism is an inspiration not just to her colleagues but to every people who will come across knowing her great example as a female leader.
The Governor of Arizona, Jan Brewer, will have a span of 72 hours to proclaim a primary for the replacement of Gabrielle Giffords when her resignation becomes official. 50 to 60 days after primary, a General Election is set to happen.
Gabrielle Giffords deserves to be an inspiration of hope and optimism. Everyone will continue to pray for her total recovery.

Future Pinoy scientists, a Museum of Natural History

Michael Purugganan, when he was an elementary student at Union Science Elementary School in Malate, used to sneak into the National Science Development Board premises, where he would spend hours in a small museum.  "It just fascinated me. I just wanted to learn more about these things and what these people were doing there," Purruganan told GMA News Online.  "That was really what inspired me to become a scientist," said Purugganan, who is currently the Dean for Science at New York University and a world leader in evolutionary and ecological genomics.   With a new museum in the works, more young Filipinos may be inspired to become scientists.
