Rico Blanco Interview: From Singer to Actor (Video)

Rivermaya frontman Rico Blanco was the guest of Boy Abunda during the January 24, 2013 edition of Ikaw Na for Bandila. The singer/composer who turns an actor shares about his experience as he played an important role in “May Isang Pangarap.”

The singer/composer Rico Blanco turns solo last 2008 after being being a regular frontman of Rivermaya from the year 1993-1997. Rico currently plays the role of Obet in the Kapamilya Channel’s afternoon soap opposite Kare played by Vina Morales.

Rico was also the singer and composer of Bandila’s theme song titled “Bandila,” he also sang some lines of the song during the interview with Boy Abunda.

Future Pinoy scientists, a Museum of Natural History

Michael Purugganan, when he was an elementary student at Union Science Elementary School in Malate, used to sneak into the National Science Development Board premises, where he would spend hours in a small museum. "It just fascinated me. I just wanted to learn more about these things and what these people were doing there," Purruganan told GMA News Online. "That was really what inspired me to become a scientist," said Purugganan, who is currently the Dean for Science at New York University and a world leader in evolutionary and ecological genomics. With a new museum in the works, more young Filipinos may be inspired to become scientists.
