MANILA, Philippines -- Six months after the death of her longtime partner Dolphy, singer-actress Zsa Zsa Padilla admitted that she is still grieving.
At the same time, she said she is open to fall in love again -- thanks to a viral video.
"May napanood ako kanina, hindi ko alam bakit ako nanood ng 'Jamich.' Tapos may pinundot ako doon na 'how to move on.' Ito parang ang sinasabi ni Jam 'yung break up sa akin ay moving forward din in my life. Ang na-pick up ko, talagang nag-retain sa akin, don't be afraid to fall in love again. Dahil masarap magmahal, hindi ba?' Oo nga naman. Pero siyempre wala pa ako doon sa ngayon, hindi pa," Padilla told reporters on Monday night during the grand press conference of the new soap "Juan dela Cruz."
"I'm still thinking about it honestly this morning, not about closing my doors. I was having my usual talk with Dolphy and I was like 'Oh my God, I will be 49 this year and I think I met him when I first started to work with him, he was 57 or 58 years old. Sabi ko hindi ko pa nga nadarating 'yung edad niya noong nag-meet kami. So sabi ko kung papalarin ako at mabubuhay din ako in my 80s. Sabi ko mahaba pa din talaga ang buhay," she said.
"Some say that life is short but then it could be a very long life also for us. So sabi ko sana din ay maging happy ako kung ano man ang maging state ko in the future. Pero I will not seek this out. I want to say this right now hindi ko isi-seek out ang love kasi hindi ko naman siya hinahanap ngayon masaya ako in the company of my children. They are with my and I'm very much dedicated to them. Maganda 'yon kasi lahat ng panahon ko, earnings ko at dedication ko ay sa kanila napupunta, sila ang inspirasyon ko," Padilla said.
Asked if her children are open for her to fall in love again, Padilla said: "We don't talk about it but I think they are the coolest children anybody could have. Siyempre darating 'yung panahon. Zia is 21, Nicole is 22 so parang darating din 'yung panahon na aalis din sila sa bahay at magkakaroon din sila ng sariling buhay. Siguro kapag dumating doon, doon na lang hindi natin masasabi."
The singer, who's back to doing acting projects, said working keeps her mind busy.
"Kapag nabi-busy ako sa trabaho mas okay para sa akin or kapag nagbabakasyon kami ng mga bata. Not that I don't enjoy being at home but there are times na kapag nawawalan ako ng taping, hindi ako tinatawag, nakakalungkot din siyempre. Naiisip mo, lalong naiisip kung ano ang nawala sa buhay mo," she said.
However, Padilla said she can't still do concerts because of the pain she feels every time she hears love songs.
"Mahirap pa sa akin. Kasi kapag tinatanong ako kung kailan ako magko-concert sinasabi ko hindi ko pa kaya. So, siguro darating din ang panahon. Kasi minsan kahit hindi ko iniisip, hindi ko sinasadya bigla ka na lang tatamaan," Padilla said.

Future Pinoy scientists, a Museum of Natural History

Michael Purugganan, when he was an elementary student at Union Science Elementary School in Malate, used to sneak into the National Science Development Board premises, where he would spend hours in a small museum.  "It just fascinated me. I just wanted to learn more about these things and what these people were doing there," Purruganan told GMA News Online.  "That was really what inspired me to become a scientist," said Purugganan, who is currently the Dean for Science at New York University and a world leader in evolutionary and ecological genomics.   With a new museum in the works, more young Filipinos may be inspired to become scientists. In a couple of years, the Philippines will have its own world class Museum of Natural History, showcasing endemic plants and animals that can be found in the country, according to a report on State of the Nation on January 23. Museums bridge the past and present, but the government believes these can also meet...
